November Unemployment Report


1. Overall employment rose by 151,000 jobs
2. The critical component of the report - Private Sector Jobs - exceeded all forecasts rising 159,000
3. Jobless Rate held at 9.6%
4. The underemployment rate declined from 17.1% to 17.0%
5. Average hourly earnings rose from $22.68 to $22.73
6. Average work week rose from 34.2 hours to 34.3 hours

• Overall employment increased for the first since May, ending the Baseball Season of Frustration
• The previous month's private sector jobs number was revised higher from +64,000 to +107,000
• The previous month's overall employment number was revised from minus 95,000 to minus 41,000
