Christopher Kelleher is a senior managing director, senior portfolio manager, and the head of institutional asset management at Newfleet Asset Management, an investment management affiliate of Virtus Investment Partners.
Mr. Kelleher oversees implementing the management of Newfleet’s mandates to institutional clients and consultants. In addition, he serves as co-portfolio manager of the Virtus Bond Fund, Virtus Balanced Fund, and Virtus Low Duration Income Fund.
Mr. Kelleher has more than 25 years of investment experience in all bond market sectors, including both publicly traded and private placements. Prior to joining Newfleet in 2012, Mr. Kelleher had been retired from Goodwin Capital Advisers, a former investment management subsidiary of Virtus, where he was senior managing director and senior portfolio manager from 1997 through January 2010. From 1983 through 1997, he was an investment officer with Phoenix Life Insurance Company.
Mr. Kelleher earned a B.S. in accounting from the University of Connecticut and a M.S. in accounting from the University of Hartford. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation and is a Certified Public Accountant. He began his career in the financial services industry in 1983.
